Many ladies I speak to admit to thinking that if they so much as look at a weight they will 'bulk up' and look manly. This is not true! They will not make you bulky - instead they will help to reduce your body fat, build lean tissue (that's toning up!), make you stronger and give you a new found confidence. Many of my female clients begin to enjoy weight training when they see themselves getting stronger and fitter. It also helps to add variety to your gym session as most women I speak to focus the majority of their time doing cardio. Too much cardio however can lead to injury and the breakdown of muscle rather than fat tissue.
